Amazon Prime Video reveals the title of the upcoming LOTR show – The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power. The upcoming show is an adaptation of J.R.R Tolkein and will launch on September 2, 2022.
The upcoming series is set in the Second Age – thousand of years before the events of the Lord of the Rings movies and novels. It tells the story of the Second Age of Middle-earth history. The series will have both new and familiar characters as they confront the re-emergence of evil on Earth.
It will take us back to the time when kingdoms rose to power, and great powers were forged. We will be able to see the Misty Mountains, the elf capital of Lindon, the Kingdom of Numenor, and a lot more.

Showrunners Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne shared a few details regarding the show with an obvious event as shown in the title is the forging of the Rings of Power.
“This is a title that we imagine could live on the spine of a book next to J.R.R. Tolkien’s other classics. The Rings of Power unites all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men,” said Payne & McKay.
Thanks to the official teaser and details shared by showrunners, fans have a better understanding of what the upcoming show will offer. Season 1 of the show is confirmed and will hit our screens on September 2, 2022, and the new episodes will roll out every Friday.
While the producers have not revealed the characters, we have the list of cast members who will be joining the LOTR show. We will be seeing Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Robert Aramayo, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Ema Horvath, Sophia Nomvete, Daniel Weyman, and Trystan Gravelle among many others.
If the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power delivers on the expectations of fans, this could fill the void left by HBO’s Game of Thrones series.
